Here is a picture of a nonfiction book I read today for a reading group. Of course I got snakes and I am afraid of them. I was in a group with Mrs. Peyrat, Ms. Brett , and Mrs. Howrigan.

Reading Strategy Lesson

A picture from my class today. We are watching a video on teaching a small group strategy lesson. I think I am going to move some of the tables out of my room this year so we have more space to sit and work in small groups.  I can't wait to go work in my room this Friday!  Also, this Friday is our new principal's first day. Ms. Jill Ballou officially starts on July 1, although she has been at school a lot working with Mrs. Wood and spent the week at Killington with us.  Stop by and say hi if you want!

June 28, 2016

Wow! It's been a long day.  My class was good today. We took a closer look at the reading units of study and started working on our final projects.  It's funny, I'm called up to sit on the floor for the mini lesson just like the kids will be!  I hate when I have to stop reading Wonder.  Although I know keeping a journal on my reading is important, it's hard to have to stop and write about it.  I know how the kids feel!  I taught yoga tonight and had a great turnout! During the spring and summer, the numbers tend to drop, so it was nice to have a full class tonight.  Well, I have finished my homework which was to map out the reading and writing units for the year using the Lucy Calkins' units. I am going to get the coffee ready to go off at 4:15 a.m so I can have a cup before I spin with Mrs. Malbeouf at 5:00 a.m!  I should try to go right to sleep, but I want to read a little more of my book!!  Hope you all had a wonderful day. Hopefully, the weather will get nice again. Those were some storms tonight!

June 26, 2016

What a beautiful Sunday. I started the day with yoga and then ran a 5k race. Here is a picture from my back deck. It's hard to see, but there are baby robins in a nest waiting for their momma to bring them some worms.  Yesterday, before the hockey game, I went to Taylor Park to visit Ms. Dion. She sells greats vegetables! I got some butter crunch lettuce and snap peas.  Here is a picture of Erin's last hockey game.

I am at my daughter's hockey game right now wearing flip flops. Gotta love summer hockey. She is playing in the Make A Wish All Star Classic. It is her official last hockey game. I am having trouble getting pictures on here because I am not using the app. I will update with more tomorrow.
