Hi Families!
I apologize for the amount of time that has passed since my last post on here. Here are a few updates!
1. We are chipping away at our opinion writing unit! Students have been given topics and are expected to be writing their opinion and providing reasons and examples to support it.
2. We started new reading groups last week. Each group is reading a chapter book and each student was provided with one. They may be assigned homework using these books if they did not complete their classwork at school.
3. Students have been doing very well in spelling and they will have their next spelling quiz tomorrow (even though it was a short week).
4. In math, students are working on Numbers and Operations with Fractions.
5. We have our spring BBQ this Friday, 5/31/19. It is from 11:00-1:00 and is followed by the spring concert, 1:00-2:30. Families are welcome, so please make sure you send in the BBQ form that was given to youngest or only children. Our kitchen staff needs to know who will be coming from families!
We will be teaching academics up until the last few days of school and are reiterating to students that they still need to be putting in their best effort into their work. These are STILL grades that will be on their last report card!
