Project Sweet Talk Work
Today was our April Award Celebration.
May 22nd is our celebration for Fairfield's 250 Birthday. This is the day that we will share Project Sweet Talk. I am out tomorrow so I have asked the students to be extremely well behaved. I compare a substitute teacher to having company in your home. I will be with Mr. Stebbins, Mrs. Wood, and Mrs. Sargent learning about Personalized Learning Plans.

Private Browsing:
Today we talked about how some browsers have private tab settings where you can open a tab that does not show up on your internet history. Mrs. Hill and I explained to the students that to be on a private page is a serious technology violation that would result in the immediate loss of technology and require a conference with Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Wood, BFA technology staff (they work with Mrs. Hill on our technology), and me. The big question was, "If it's private how would you know?" We explained that, as in all things, digital citizenship requires honesty, respect, and responsibility. Just because you might not get caught does not make it okay to do.
I am providing some links to let you read about this if you wish.
Mozilla and Chrome
We haven't had any issues with this (that we know!!) and a lot of the kids already knew about private browsing. We reminded the students that unlike footprints in the snow, dirt, or sand your digital footprints stay with you forever!
Reminder:
This is the last week before vacation. I hope you enjoy the warm weather for tonight!

Some of us went out to the sugar house today to review the boiling process while the 8th graders were gathering. This allowed the kids to look in the pans and touch things without getting burned.

A fruit salad consists of blueberries, raspberries, grapes, and cherries. The fruit salad has a total of 280 pieces of fruit. There are twice as many raspberries as blueberries, three times as many grapes as cherries, and four times as many cherries as raspberries.
How many cherries are there in the fruit salad?
Vacation is coming up in about 2 1/2 weeks. It seems like we just got back from the one in March since it has snowed so much! I am ready for the warm weather. In fact I am going to go for a run right now. Finally I got this done before I left school!
